This is an exercise to help you consider important areas of your life together.
- Make a list of distinct areas of your life. Normally about 8 different areas works, and the list below may be appropriate for you, or you might want to use it as a starting point and specify your own.
- Physical environment
- Career
- Family and friends
- Significant other / romance
- Fun and recreation
- Health
- Money
- Personal growth / spirituality
- Draw a circle (a wheel) and split it into a number of segments to match the number of areas you have chosen. Label each segment.
- With 0 at the centre, and 10 at the outer edge, rank your level of satisfaction with each area of your life by drawing a line in the segment.
- What does this tell you? How bumpy is your life with this wheel?
- This is a starting point to help you consider changes. For some areas there might be a quick and simple thing you can do. For others, you might want to give it more attention over time to improve its ranking.
