Coaching for children and teenagers

Everyone needs people on their team, helping and supporting them as they face life’s challenges and work towards their goals. Children are no different from adults in this respect, and sometimes an extra adult on your child’s side, acting as a trusted family friend, can be just what they need.

As a martial arts instructor, I have supported children, teenagers and adults to set goals, work towards goals, and achieve goals. I’ve helped people find the courage to overcome fears, break problems down into manageable chunks, work with their peers, take on leadership roles, and develop into strong and confident adults.

As a coach I am necessarily less directive than I was as an instructor. The goals that we set will be determined by your child’s own needs, and the space they will have to talk and solve things for themselves will be greater than in a martial arts class. I see my role being to listen and support them in navigating their challenges, providing suggestions (but not giving direction) and introducing useful skills and ways of thinking they may not have yet encountered.

Importantly, and I hope obviously, I like children and I like supporting them. I can offer your child an unusual environment in which they have time to talk things through with a supportive adult who has no other agenda to consider. This in itself can be a very empowering experience.

I work with children aged 10+. If you think your child could benefit from working with me, get in touch for a free call with no obligation or pressure.
